Sophie was born in a town called Market Chipping in the kingdom of Ingary. Her mother died when she was three and her sister Letty was two and their father remarried a worker in his shop. His wife,gave birth to Martha-the third sister.
Since Sophie's parents were Muggles and owned a hat shop,Sophie thought that she was normal and that the instances where the broom started to sweep of its own volition or the hats being made overnight were just unusual incidents and that's all. So imagine her surprise when she turned elevan and a huge owl flew through the shop's window and delivered the letter that would change her life.
She was surprised to learn about Hogwarts and the wizarding world but as the years went by,she grew accustomed to it.
She's currently in her fifth year and she's doing fine. She still doesn't know it,but she has a very special ability: the power to give things new life.

She's smart,thoughtful and kind. She can be snarky to those who annoy her (mainly a certain 7th year going by the name Howl...) but mostly she isn't like that.
EDIT: She now knows about her ability and trying to learn on how to master it. She also not that snarky towards Howl because of what happened during winter break.

Maito Gai-Graduate. Sophie considers him the big brother she never had. She knows that whenever she has a problem she can talk to him and he would listen and it also works vice versa sometimes. She is used to Gai and loves every quirk he has because that makes him what he is.
Howell (Howl) Jenkins- 7th year Ranvenclaw. At first, Sophie didn't like him very, but after being forced to stay with him during winter break, her opinion about him changed when she saw what he was really like. After returning to Hogwarts, she started having strange feelings about it and in the end reluctantly acknowledged to herself that she has a crush on him. So far, she's hiding it from him because she doesn't know if he feels the same.
Misa Amane-5th year Hufflepuff. Best friend, roommate and classmate. After they started talking over the journals, they became friends (even if they've been roommates for 4.5 years...). Sophie likes her, she thinks Misa is a sweet and kind girl and very energetic.
Shinji Hirako-5th year Hufllepuff. Classmate. Sophie thinks he's nice and goofy but has a heart in the right place. Sophie likes sometimes to hang out with him and Gai.
Tamaki Suoh-6th year Gryffindor. When Sophie first met him she was immediately reminded of Howl, and since then she silently dubbed him Howl's purple-eyed version. Since she's used to Howl's antics, she accepts what Tamaki is doing because she's seen it before.
Yamino Ryusuke-first year Hufflepuff. Sophie recently met him and she thinks he's very nice and extremely polite.
Reginald L Theophilus (Mad Hatter)-TA. Sophie thinks he's very amusing and find it ironic that his profession, her family's profession and her family name share the same name (Hatter).
